MOSE Floodgates – Venice

The MOSE Project: Innovation in Protecting the Venice Lagoon

Officine Zoppelletto Srl is proud to have contributed to one of the most ambitious and significant projects for the protection of the environment and Italy’s cultural heritage: the construction of the MOSE floodgates, the system of mobile barriers designed to protect the city of Venice and its lagoon from high tides and rising sea levels.

A Fundamental Contribution to the Protection of Venice

Officine Zoppelletto’s involvement in this project included the production and processing of high-precision steel components for the construction of the floodgates, which are designed to temporarily isolate the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea in the event of exceptionally high tides. This intervention is essential not only to preserve the structural integrity of the historic city of Venice, but also to safeguard its invaluable historical and cultural heritage.

Technology and Precision for the Environment

The use of advanced technologies and Officine Zoppelletto’s extensive experience in steel processing made it possible to manufacture components that met the demanding quality standards required by the project. Precision in the production of the floodgates was essential to ensure the effectiveness of the protection system, demonstrating how technological innovation can go hand in hand with environmental protection and heritage conservation.

A Commitment to the Future

Our collaboration on the MOSE project highlights the importance, for Officine Zoppelletto, of a multidisciplinary approach and the ability to provide specific expertise in addressing and solving complex challenges, always with close attention to the environmental and social impact of our activities.

At Officine Zoppelletto, we firmly believe that technology and innovation are valuable allies in the fight against climate change and in the protection of our landscapes and cities. Our contribution to the MOSE project is a clear example of how our company works every day towards a safer and more sustainable future.
