San Siro Stadium in Milan, also known as Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, is one of the most iconic sports venues in the world. Its imposing structure and large capacity make it one of the most renowned stadiums, hosting top-level sporting events and concerts by international artists.
The Addition of the Third Tier
Over the years, the stadium has undergone several expansion and modernization projects. Among these, the addition of the third tier was one of the most significant. This expansion increased the stadium’s capacity, providing fans with better visibility and greater comfort.
The Metal Structure of the Third Tier
Our company contributed to the construction of the steel structures for the third tier. Before the addition of the third tier, the height of the stadium was approximately 28 metres. With the expansion and the construction of the third tier for the 1990 FIFA World Cup, the total height of the stadium was increased to around 60 metres. The steel beams and columns were designed and installed to support the additional load and withstand structural stress, without compromising the stadium’s aesthetics and functionality.
We are delighted to have taken part in such a prestigious project.
